Connect your business bank accounts to VIS42 through our banking integration, powered by Salt Edge. VIS42 reads your transactions daily, matches them against your receivables and payables, and makes the data available to your AI agents — so you can ask about balances, reconcile accounts, and stay on top of your cash position without manual exports.

Supported banks

VIS42 connects to 2,367+ banks across 38+ countries through Salt Edge’s open banking network. See the full list at vis42.com/banks.

What your agents can do

Once a bank account is connected, VIS42 agents can:
  • Query your balance and recent transactions — ask Mercury about incoming payments or your current cash position
  • Reconcile transactions automatically — VIS42 matches bank transactions against open invoices and bills as they arrive
  • Highlight unmatched items — agents flag transactions that don’t correspond to a known receivable or payable so you can review them

Connect a bank account

1

Go to bank accounts

In VIS42, go to SettingsBank accounts and click Connect a bank account.
2

Select your bank

Choose your country and bank from the list. If your bank isn’t shown, search by name or check vis42.com/banks.
3

Authorize via your bank

You’ll be redirected to Salt Edge’s secure widget, which opens your bank’s authentication page. Follow your bank’s login steps — username, password, two-factor authentication, or equivalent.
4

Confirm account access

After authenticating, your bank accounts appear in VIS42. Review them and confirm to link them.
Once linked, VIS42 begins syncing transactions immediately. Ongoing syncs run daily.
Bank connections expire after 90 days. When a connection expires, transaction sync stops and your agents lose access to that account’s data. You’ll need to reconnect to restore access.
VIS42 will notify you before your connection expires so you can re-authorize in time. To reconnect, go to SettingsBank accounts, find the expired account, and click Reconnect — the process is the same as the initial connect flow.

What data is stored

VIS42 stores the following for each connected account:
DataDetails
Account detailsAccount number, IBAN, currency
TransactionsDate, amount, description, reference
Connection metadataBank name, account type, last synced
VIS42 does not store your bank login credentials. Authentication is handled entirely by Salt Edge and your bank.

Reconciliation

When a transaction arrives, VIS42 attempts to match it against open receivables (for incoming payments) or payables (for outgoing payments). A successful match is recorded automatically — you can review or override it on the relevant invoice or bill. Unmatched transactions appear in your transaction list and can be matched manually or left as-is for review.

Privacy and compliance

  • VIS42 connects via Salt Edge using PSD2-compliant open banking APIs — your bank credentials are never shared with VIS42.
  • Access is read-only: VIS42 can read account information and transactions but cannot initiate payments or transfers.
  • Connection tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • VIS42 is not a payment service provider and does not hold or move funds.

Disconnect a bank account

To remove a bank connection, go to SettingsBank accounts, find the account, and click Disconnect. The connection is revoked in VIS42 and the account is disabled. Historical transaction data is retained for your records.

Troubleshooting

Check vis42.com/banks for the full list of supported institutions. If yours isn’t listed, contact support@vis42.com — we’re continuously expanding coverage.
Make sure you’re using the credentials for your online banking portal (not your VIS42 account). If your bank uses a hardware token or one-time passcode, have it ready before starting.
The first sync runs shortly after connecting. If transactions are still missing after 30 minutes, check that the connection shows Active in SettingsBank accounts. An expired or revoked connection will not sync.
Bank connections last 90 days. Go to SettingsBank accounts, find the expired account, and click Reconnect to re-authorize with your bank.
VIS42 deduplicates transactions by account and reference. If duplicates appear, contact support@vis42.com with the account name and transaction dates.
